THE FINAL SYNOPSIS

I spent this Saturday editing my synopsis (again) to fit onto one page. I don’t know why I struggled so much because when I looked at it this weekend, it all seemed to make sense at last.

Certain sentences I had included were irrelevant, but it is so hard to make cuts as you want to tell whoever it is you are sending your manuscript to, about all the good bits. I wonder if this is because in the back of our minds, we are worried that they will never ask for the full manuscript thereby never getting to read our work of genius so we try to lure them in with as much of the good stuff as we can.

So let’s be confidant in ourselves and just let the agent/publisher know what happens in the story and that really ought to be enough to grab their attention and make them desperate to read the whole novel. And if they don’t, then they are the wrong agent/publisher for you…..Or, your book stinks and you had better start again! 😉
